Federal University of Technology Akure

The Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) is situated in Akure, Ondo State, in the southwestern part of Nigeria. FUTA is a comprehensive public institution established in 1981 as one of the three key universities of technology in Nigeria. FUTA is organized into ; School of Agriculture & Agricultural Technology, School of Computing, School of Engineering & Engineering Technology, School of Earth & Mineral Sciences, School of Environmental Technology, School of Management Technology, School of Life Sciences, School of Physical Sciences, Institute of Technology Enhanced-Learning and Digital Humanities College of Health Sciences as well as several centers of excellence in research. A top ranking university in Africa, FUTA has a rich tradition of excellence. In 2004, the National Universities Commission of Nigeria conducted a comprehensive review of the 94 universities in Nigeria and ranked FUTA as the best university of technology and the third best university of agriculture in the country. FUTA graduated its first class of students (fondly referred to as FUTARIANS) in 1987 and now boasts of thousands of alumni who have achieved professional career success globally in academics, agriculture, business & entrepreneurship, finance, oil & industrial fields, politics, and technology.
