first aid arts (formerly arts aftercare)

First Aid Arts trains people how to use different forms of art and creativity to help survivors of trauma begin the process of healing from experiences like abuse, violence, or natural disaster. Our trainings teach people how trauma affects the mind, brain, and body, and how to use the arts as an effective antidote in building resilience, and caring for yourself and others. We envision a world where wounded hearts heal beautifully. We serve survivors of abuse, violence and disaster. We equip care providers with trauma-informed arts-based tools and training. Our home base is Seattle, WA, but we train around the US and internationally. We host trainings open to the public, as well as private organizational trainings across the US and around the world.
