Established as a training arm of the First Media Group of Companies, First Media Academy (FMA) focuses on encouraging lifelong learning and enhancing employability. With our group’s active involvement within the design industry, FMA is able to identify key essential elements to be implemented into its design curriculum. First Media Academy was established in 2012 as a centre for continuous improvement with a focus in design. The centre provides retraining, skill enhancement and employability programmes for those seeking career advancement and self upgrading programmes. In 2015, FMA partnered with the Workforce Development Agency (WDA) as the sole provider of design programmes within the Visual Communications Framework. In 2016 and 2017, FMA has launched employability initiatives such as the Professional Conversion Programme in partnership with the newly established government arm, Workforce Singapore (WSG) to aid career switching via retraining in design and on-job-training programmes. We provide a holistic range of design education programmes, from Graphic Design, Interior Design, Web Design and other Employment Initiatives. Here at FMA, we are advocates for lifelong learning and design appreciation. Certified by the Workforce Singapore (WSG) as Singapore’s only Visual Communications Approved Training Organisation (ATO), we are run by designers, for designers. “Good Design is Good Business” – Thomas J.
