founded in 1973 by the current owner, leigh smart, formula chemicals started out with a handful of products, a single factory building and a vision to excel in product satisfaction and customer service. this ethos is still at the core of the company values today. formula’s commitment to its core values soon began to receive recognition in the marketplace. the business expanded rapidly between 1980 and 1990 when major dairy companies and large food and beverage processors formed a trusting partnership with formula. formula chemicals were one of the first specialty chemical manufacturer in nsw to achieve iso 9001 accreditation in 1992. more recently in 2018, formula also achieved iso 14001 accreditation. formula chemicals business has diversified into the following main areas: 1. food & beverage 2. toll manufacturing & repacking 3. industrial 4. pool chemicals 5. transport – road / rail / mining 6. equipment
