Foundry 805 is renovating a 25,000 square foot building at 900 Avenida Acaso in Camarillo, CA, converting the under-utilized building to a modern Social Enterprise research & development facility with a full-service restaurant. Foundry 805 is locally owned and operated by Foundry 805 LLC, a subsidiary of NewCo Foundation, a California 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation with on-site offices. The Foundry 805 project is aligned with the Camarillo Economic Development Strategic Plan, providing technology-oriented entrepreneurial development and associated investments. Foundry 805 is also aligned with the Career Technical Education Standards for California Public Schools, providing funding, back-office support, and internships to enable on-campus businesses in career education programs. Foundry 805 will lead the creation of and administer a Crowdfunded Community Investment Fund providing Ventura County residents, municipalities, and institutions unprecedented access to invest in Foundry 805 startups. This non-profit Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) will operate under Regulation Crowdfunding with no management fees to investors. Foundry 805 operates at the intersection of these three related initiatives, promoting home-grown entrepreneurs in a startup-friendly city.
