Frankish Training has been developed by a team of experienced professionals who are passionate about Disability Psychotherapy. We all have extensive experience of using the approach and have been able to witness the enormous benefits gained by people we have worked with. Our aim is to increase the knowledge and understanding of Disability Psychotherapy so that it becomes an underpinning principle of the support given in our current care system. Our hope is that the ideas and concepts will become integrated within current care and therapeutic provision, improving the future lives of people with disability, treating them as individuals and listening to their comments and wishes. Our on-line courses detail the theoretical knowledge of Disability Psychotherapy and help participants to apply this knowledge in undertaking assessments. Either of our level 1 & 2 courses are appropriate to anyone keen to further their knowledge of Disability Psychotherapy. They are especially appropriate for those directly supporting individuals with disabilities, to have a keener understanding of relevant emotional issues and to be able to assist the work of other professionals using this approach. Our higher end courses at Level 5 & 7 are more appropriate to managers and those seeking further professional enhancement. The courses are accredited by the CPCAB. The Introductory Course is a series of online lectures delivered by Dr Pat Frankish and will take approximately 10 hours to complete. The lectures are ideally suited to in-house staff development training and are supported by reading materials. The Level 2 course comprises lectures, reading material and various reflective and assessment components. Total time to complete level 2 would be expected to be 100 hours over a minimum six month period. This would earn 10 credit points (equivalent to NVQ2).
