Fulfilling Lives Newcastle Gateshead

The Fulfilling Lives Programme is seeking to help people with complex needs to better manage their lives, by ensuring that services are more tailored and better connected to each other. The Fulfilling Lives programme is an 8-year programme funded by The Big Lottery Fund, ending in 2022. The longevity of the programme and level of funding allows real opportunity to make a serious impact upon the lives of people with complex needs living in and between Newcastle and Gateshead. There are a further 11 Fulfilling Lives programmes across England. Our mission is to work with those people in Newcastle Gateshead who experience a number of difficulties across alcohol and drug dependency, mental health, accommodation or offending, and who are not benefiting from the current service provision. Our aim is to develop and support new ways of working by challenging both the system and stereotypes so that people can improve their overall physical and mental health, find safe accommodation and have the opportunity for paid work: so that they can lead Fulfilling Lives. We want to radically change the health, social care and criminal justice culture in Newcastle and Gateshead so that people with complex needs can make it from crisis to stability. Concentrating on outcomes for people rather than organisations, services will be better joined up, less risk averse, and see peoples assets rather than their problems.
