Gen-Next Cricket Institute is a professional cricket coaching centre, located in the hub of Chennai. Ravichandran Ashwin is Gen-Next’s Brand Ambassador & Chief Mentor. The institute, run by Ashwin’s father, Mr.N.Ravichandran, prides itself in producing high quality cricketers. The academy is run at the picturesque Loyola College Grounds in Nungambakkam, Chennai. Besides the institute runs school based programmes in Pon Vidyashram, Valsarwalkam and KRM group of schools in Perambur, Chennai.The primary activities of Gen-Next are: High Performance Academy, Weekend Coaching Program & Tournaments. Gen-Next’s High Performance, Ashwin’s brain child, is a high-octane, intense everyday program offering personalised coaching, that involves training at the gym (fitness) in the mornings & training at the ground (Cricket) in the evenings. Vision 2020 is a personalised program designed exclusively by R.Ashwin to identify tomorrow’s cricketing superstars. The weekend coaching program is an annual program that runs on all weekend mornings (Saturdays & Sundays) from June to March. The program is designed for kids, who are beginners and for adults, who don’t have the time to commit to cricket full time. Gen-Next conducts tournaments periodically. In June 2016, Gen-Next, in collaboration with Gameday, conducted RESONANCE, a 48 team, 284 player, 5 over, 8 vs 8 tennis ball extravaganza, reflecting periodic peaks in cricketing intensity.
