GeoX - founded in 1998 - primarily focused on digital street map designing of Hungary. The initial survey was finished by 2002, so since then, GeoX regularly provides quarterly updates of map and address database for local (e.g. telecommunication, retail, banking, insurance, public administration) and international partners (e.g. AddressDoctor, Google Inc., HERE). In 2002 GeoX shifted its focus on business GIS analysis and web-based GIS application development in various environments (ESRI, MapInfo, ActualMap, Geoserver, OpenLayers, etc.). In order to give a swift response to the rising demand from customer side over application and mapping development, the company started to work on the field of micro-segmentation/profiling, optimization (route, workforce), data-mining, management of large databases, while our focus has been kept on the spatial aspects of the problems and their solution. Both in B2C and B2B aspect, at the beginning of 2010 GeoX has opened to mobile app development, so we came up with two flagship developments; SurveyCloud, which is a complex data entry and data-collection management platform, and Egérút, a free navigation system runs on major mobile platforms. Within the framework of the Hungarian Unified Emergency Call (112) the Egérúts routing and navigation engine are used by the mobile units of police and emergency rescue departments. The data volume handled in text/sentiment analytics and crowdsourced data collection projects required the introduction of Big Data solutions/approach in GeoXs works. Based on these wide range of expertises, GeoX has been involved several local and international R&D projects in various fields.
