The Glenelg Football Club plays in the SANFL, the oldest football league in Australia and one of the oldest football competitions in the world. The club is known as the "Tigers" or "Bays" and their home ground is Stratarama Stadium located in the beautiful coastal suburb of Glenelg in South Australia. The Glenelg Football Club was established on 20 March 1920, and played their first game in March 1921. The club has won five SANFL Premierships in 1934, 1973, 1985, 1986, 2019, and 2023, and one SANFLW Premiership in 2021. Until 1948, the team jersey was gold with a black-V however in 1949, the club adopted the iconic black and gold sash design. The Glenelg Football Club was also a foundation member of the SANFL Women's competition in 2017.
