green bear recycling

At Green Bear Recycling, our mission is to create a more sustainable future for Australia by developing new recycling methods that aim to reduce the amount of waste going to landfill. To do this we have pioneered an automated process utilising plant technology imported from Europe that saves 90 per cent of construction and demolition material from landfill and returns it to its producer as a valuable resource that can be reused. Importantly, this will not only increase recycling and decrease the environmental and health impacts of landfill, but it will also reduce the number of trucks on local roads. And with the construction industry responsible for sending the most material to landfill, some 10 million tonnes, it is a process we believe could put Australia at the forefront of waste management globally. Born out of the passions of its small group of accomplished investors, Green Bear Recycling will launch in the Melbourne suburb of Tottenham in September 2018 and we aim to build a second plant to service Melbournes booming north, Brisbane and Perth in the near future. Our team is headed by Executive Chairman Chris Dow, who has more than 12 years experience in waste management and recycling, establishing and running the worlds first food-grade recycling plant in the UK, Closed Loop Recycling. Our major shareholders have extensive experience in the waste industry and include board member Jim Shergold who oversees C. Fulton Garden Supplies, which has been providing a range of construction and demolition waste and recovery services since 1954; and board member Scott Williams who founded construction and demolition recovery business Jumbobag. Together, we at Green Bear Recycling believe that within five years, Australias construction industry can become the leader in sustainable waste management.
