GridRepublic

GridRepublic is engaged in a novel form of philanthropy called "Volunteer Computing": from our website, participants download an app which enables them to donate their PC's spare processing power to Cancer, AIDS, and Malaria study, to climate modeling, and other vital causes.
In 2009, in partnership with Intel, we launched "Progress Thru Processors", a volunteer computing app on Facebook. The organization has won awards at the SXSW Interactive Festival, the Stockholm Challenge, the Facebook Studio Awards, and is a recipient of a Google Grant. In 2011, the GridRepublic was co-organizer of the "London Cyberscience Summit".
