Hammerdirt is a nonprofit association that has strict and rigorous membership requirements. We have no political or religious affiliations, we are driven by our desire to swim in lakes and rivers that are litter free and create an environment that leverages technology and citizen participation to solve problems now and in the future. We actively survey, remove and inventory shoreline macropollution in freshwater environments. We can set up community based pollution surveillance programs in your community. By reducing the time between cleanup operations, utilizing low cost technologies to quantify data and making the data available publicly we facilitate data mining and exploitation by universities and other researchers.
