Harland & Wolff, established in 1861 through the partnership of Edward James Harland and Gustav Wilhelm Wolff, has remained at the forefront of maritime engineering for over 160 years, earning its reputation through generations of shipbuilding excellence. From our historic work on iconic vessels such as RMS Titanic, RMS Olympic and HMHS Britannic, to the SS Canberra for P&O and the Myrina – the first supertanker built in the UK, our legacy embodies British industrial innovation. Today, Harland & Wolff is part of Navantia UK, which comprises four strategic facilities across the United Kingdom: Harland & Wolff in Belfast, Appledore in Devon, Methil in Fife and Arnish in the Western Isles. Our Belfast facility operates two of Europe's largest drydocks, making us one of only three shipyards in the UK capable of undertaking complex defence projects. Our 81-acre site accommodates some of the world's largest vessels alongside comprehensive manufacturing capabilities. Strategically situated between the Atlantic Ocean and the North Sea in the Port of Belfast, we benefit from excellent connectivity through local international airports and seaports. As prime contractor for the Fleet Solid Support programme, Navantia UK is building three ships for the Royal Fleet Auxiliary to support the Royal Navy's Carrier Strike Group, with integration and delivery taking place at in Belfast. This programme represents more than ship delivery – it demonstrates our commitment to modernising facilities and growing a skilled workforce to strengthen the UK's sovereign shipbuilding capability.
