William Harvey commenced conducting his real estate business in 1918 in the Hawkes Bay region of New Zealand. In 2010 LJ Hooker purchased the Harveys franchise brand. 35 offices and most of them rebranded to LJ Hooker. In some areas, there were already LJ Hooker offices in operation so the Harveys offices continued to operate under the Harveys brand. Since 2010 Harveys have opened offices in Warkworth, Queens Street, Papatoetoe, Manurewa, and Timaru.
