The Haulmax® truck range is the culmination of 25 years of experience and research into the requirements of long-distance, off highway, bulk haulage vehicles. Designed for mine specific ultimate versatility, across multiple configurations, the Haulmax purpose built range of trucks fills the industry acknowledged void between traditional mining trucks and on-highway road trains. Built for extended haulage distances upwards of 50 km cycles, the Haulmax 3900 series truck, specifically designed for off highway haul roads, with a capacity of 77-85 tonnes. Also, the cab chasis (without body) presents the ideal base for mounting service modules, fuel/lube tanks or water tanks. An inexpensive solution given the flat chassis rail design. With a ground contact area footprint of 4.5m2 via the dual rear drive axles, the Haulmax is ideal in soft underfoot conditions where superior traction, braking, retardation and surefootedness are critical. The units also allow a low centre of gravity for the payload, furthur increasing stability. With a width of only 4,000mm (over the tyres) in means that haulroads can be built and maintained much narrower than that of a similar capacity OHT. A significant cost saving for any operation, further reducing the cost per tonne hauled. Built around a complete Caterpillar® powertrain, units are able to be supported by the Worldwide Dealer Network, making the Haulmax truck range the ideal complement to any existing Caterpillar fleet.
