Through our business Healthtek we use our passion for people and technology to improve the adoption of technology in the healthcare sector with a special focus on Primary Care which is where 90% of healthcare happens. We recognise that healthcare is about people and ask how technology can enable the sector to address issues such as equity of healthcare and access to services in a timely and affordable manner. We advocate for better primary care at a local and national level through membership of the primary care Workstream for Telehealth, Health Informatics NZ (HINZ) and NZ Health IT (NZHIT). We have worked with GPs, NGOs, PHOs and DHBs to provide independent technology advice and assist with requirements gathering, the search and selection of solutions and the implementation of systems. We have a particular focus on cloud based technologies which remove the need for healthcare workers to become IT experts.
