Healthy Petaluma District & Foundation

For more than 75 years, Healthy Petaluma District & Foundation has worked to achieve an overall healthier community and align local health efforts. Over time, the District has utilized its unique position as a community owned and operated public agency to meet the changing health care needs of Petaluma residents. The District’s staff and locally-elected board members have a responsibility to use resources effectively and efficiently for the greatest positive impact, and in the best interest of residents. Throughout its history, the District has operated Petaluma Valley Hospital and supported other needed health care services. Today, the District leases the hospital facility to St. Joseph Health and also operates Lifeline of the North Bay, HEALTHQUEST and the HeartSafe Community Program. In addition, the District works to develop important partnerships and align area efforts to ensure needed health care and prevention programs are available in our community. The District’s key focus is the overall health and wellness of the community, which means we’re focused on the complete physical, mental and societal well-being of residents. In order to address the community’s overall health, we’ve engaged in a strategic effort – the Community Health Initiative for the Petaluma Area, or CHIPA, so we can work with local partners to shift from treating illness, to promoting wellness. As the District navigates changes in health care, residents should understand the benefits the District brings to the community. We understand our value and our mission – to benefit the health and wellness of the community – and our residents should too. We’ve been here for more than six decades and we’re committed to, and excited about, the partnerships being formed to continue the District’s effort of bettering our community.
