The Homaira Rahman Foundation (HRF) is a 501c3 non-profit charitable organization dedicated to empowering orphans in Afghanistan through education. HRF was established in April 2009 in honor of Ms. Homaira Rahman, who on July 4, 2008, had her very young life tragically cut short. While there is no way to explain this senseless tragedy, both friends and family agreed this foundation was a worthy tribute to honoring her legacy. It is a testament not only to Homaira’s giving nature, but more importantly to her ability of inspiring others to support worthy causes. • Emphasizing orphanages in areas where distribution of, and access to resources is limited. • Securing the resources necessary for a quality education. • Developing a viable program of assistance for long term sustainability of the educational infrastructure. • Facilitating the construction of schools and learning centers. • Removing any obstacles to the fulfillment of an orphan's basic physical and psychological needs.
