The Human Development Foundation was launched by a group of visionary Pakistani Americans in 1997 as a gift to Pakistan on the 50th anniversary of its Independence. Since its founding, HDF has been fighting extreme poverty through a holistic model of development focused on lasting change. The HDF Holistic Model™ includes programs in 5 key areas: Social Mobilization, Education & Literacy, Primary Health Care, Economic Development, and Sustainable Environment. The cornerstone of HDF's efforts is our commitment to working directing with communities through our Social Mobilization program. Today, HDF operates in 17 districts in all four provinces of Pakistan and AJK including Mardan, Swat, Tando Mohammed Khan, Ramin Yar Khan, Zhob, Islamabad, Lahore, Attock, Bahawalpur, and Muzaffarabad.
