The companys name is an acronym that consists of his own initials of IK, E indicated Elmtaryd, the name of the farm and A indicated Agunnaryd Today, with 70 years of history, IKEA has grown into a well-known global enterprise and the biggest home furnishing retailer. IKEA has 364 stores in 46 countries and more than 150,000 employees worldwide. IKEA vision is to create a better everyday life for the many people. Our business idea supports this vision by offering a wide range of well-designed, functional home furnishing products at prices so low that as many people as possible will be able to afford them. This is the idea at the heart of everything IKEA does, from product development and purchases to how we sell our products in IKEA stores globally. We opened Xindian (New Taipei City) store in May 2019 which is the 6th store in Taiwan. IKEA Taiwan is a member of the Dairy Farm Group of Companies that also operate IKEA retail stores in Hong Kong and Indonesia.
