IMPS, together with LAFIG Belgium, are the official licensors of the little blue-skinned characters "The Smurfs" and manage the rights of their world and the other characters created by Pierre Culliford, aka Peyo. Founded in 1984 by Véronique Culliford, Peyos daughter, and based in Genval in Belgium, the company today has 30+ employees who keep themselves busy developing the brand throughout the world. On the one hand, there is the graphic studio, which keeps Peyo's work alive (new comic books and license support), and on the other, there is the marketing team which works in close collaboration with its agents worldwide to develop successful licensed merchandising, retail and co-branded promotions, publishing activities, broadcasting deals, theme parks, live shows that have secured the everlasting success of the Smurfs. imps@smurf.com
