India School Leadership Institute

At ISLI we believe all schools should offer exceptional educational opportunities. Towards this end, we seek to create a generation of exemplary leaders who can guide their schools towards a new environment of excellence. By improving standards within their schools, School Leaders (school principal, headmaster, school head, etc.) can improve parent satisfaction, teacher retention, student performance, and enrollment. Established in 2013, India School leadership Institute (ISLI) is a project of Akanksha Foundation and among the first organisations in India dedicated to developing skills of School Leaders. Our key objectives are to create a pipeline of leaders equipped to lead high performing schools for children of under served communities and establish the benchmark for school leadership training in India. Our Vision: Every school in India will be led by an effective school leader who commits to high quality education for children. Our Mission: To develop school leaders who drive high-performing schools for underserved communities. Who are School Leaders: School Leaders are people who can take decisions regarding the working of the school. They include principals, headmasters/headmistresses and owners of Government, budget-private or low income schools. School Leaders enroll into the ISLI City Fellowship Programme, which is specially designed to develop and improve their skills in order to provide great education in their schools. The School Leader then becomes the key lever to transform the education system in his or her own school by creating a high-quality environment that promotes excellence in all areas. ISLIs key focus is to help School Leaders build an excellent school culture through assessment, analysis, improving and strengthening a school's identity, and then monitoring progress.
