innobite

Founded in 1998, CIMV (Compagnie Industrielle de la Matière Végétale) has developed a specific biorefinery process (11 patents). This process allows for a clean separation, without degradation, of all components of the lignocellulosic biomass. Out of this process, three main products are obtained: • Cellulose (C6 sugar) or Glucose (after enzymatic hydrolysis); • Biolignin (phenolic-type biopolymer); • Sugar syrup (xylose and other C5 sugars). CIMV products can be used as substitutes for fossil-based commodities in industrial product formulation (glues, biofuels, plastics, painting, solvents, etc.). CIMV technology promotes the non-food part of a wide range of renewable lignocellulosic resources (cereal straw, sugarcane bagasse, fibrous plants or hardwoods), placing it in perfect synergy with the food issues, creating added-value bioproducts. CIMV participates in various European programs supported by the Commission (Biocore, Biomimetic, Innobite, Reneseng, 2G Biopic, Carbosurf). The Biocore program (ended: 02/2014) announces in its final report that the CIMV technology will play an important role in the development of the future bio-economy. Currently, CIMV is positioned as a natural intermediary between the agricultural sector and the 2G Industry. This ambition is expressed by the development of more and more innovative solutions and efficient alternatives for the Industrial sector.
