Jack & Jill Family of Schools

Welcome to the Jack and Jill Family of Schools – a group of schools providing education for children since 1951 and now one of the few remaining family-run educational groups in the UK. All Jack & Jill schools focus on achieving high standards in both behaviour and performance within a supportive ‘family’ environment and through a broad and balanced academic curriculum. Emphasis is placed upon high attainment in English and Maths as well as fostering a perseverance, diligence and the sheer joy of learning. Important themes underpinning the provision include: • S.T.E.M • Healthy Living • Philosophy Alongside a traditional academic curriculum, pupils engage in S.T.E.M. learning to gain knowledge in these subjects which will be important for everyone, regardless of their future direction in life - the future now belongs to the technically adept. In preparation for living a healthy adult life, children enjoy sessions devised to develop positive attitudes to their bodies and minds, as exercise and competition are essential elements of the education of future generations. Philosophy for Children encourages critical, creative and collaborative thinking. Such an approach creates ‘communities of enquiry’ whereby children develop deeper understanding of themes through opportunities to question their understanding and challenge the thinking of others. We work for working parents by offering wrap around care from 8am – 6pm, through a range of Breakfast and After School Clubs. We operate a transport network through a fleet of minibuses taking children to and from school. During the school holidays, Holiday Clubs run by staff members enables access to care and learning throughout almost all the working year.
