jewish family and children's services

Jewish Family & Childrens Service (JF&CS) provides quality social services to address needs in the Jewish and broader communities within Greater St. Louis. JF&CS empowers people in need to meet the challenges of daily living. JF&CS meets this need by offering a multitude of programs in five focus areas: resolving problems, protecting children at risk, maintaining elderly in their homes, supporting those in need of help with basic needs, and enhancing Jewish connections. Clinical Services serves adults with or without insurance who wish to receive individual or group counseling for mental health-related issues. JF&CS offers the Learning and Behavior Diagnostic Center to children and adolescents up to age 19, and conducts developmental and behavior assessments, and psychoeducational assessments, to address learning difficulties. School-based clinical services are also offered throughout the community. JF&CS provides the only comprehensive child abuse prevention program (CAPP) in St. Louis County and City area. CAPP identifies children at risk of abuse and neglect and provides education to children, parents and teachers with the skills to prevent or lessen the harm in the instance of an abusive event. Elderlink and its affordable in-home services offer our elders the opportunity to maintain independence in their homes longer. Elderlink provides information, referral services, advocacy, assessment and consultation to vulnerable older adults and their caregivers. The In-Home Services/Homemaker Program is customized based on each clients need and contracted out through vetted agencies within the community. The Harvey Kornblum Jewish Food Pantry (HKJFP), a program of JF&CS, focuses on the most basic need, hunger. JF&CS chaplains provide spiritual and emotional comfort to Jewish elderly and/or disabled. Visits from the chaplains enhance the quality of life for isolated individuals and serve as a connection to the Jewish Community.
