karpos, centre of education and intercultural communication

Karpos was founded in 2007 combining people experienced in film and media, education and European cooperation. Karpos develops local and European projects by promoting the use of different forms of media for self-expression, exchange of views, creative ideas, communication and learning. We strongly believe that, in an image driven society, those tools can empower both young and adult citizens to participate in social transactions, by putting forward their own, alternative voices and become more aware of their own media literacy. TRAINING Karpos offers workshops especially designed for people who are interested in media. They vary in length according to the aim of the participants and their level of knowledge in media, media production and the use of audiovisual language. We have trained more than 1000 teachers, educators, youth workers as well as young people and children. Our aim is to familiarize people with the various forms of audiovisual expression (photography, film, sound recording, video, mixed media), make them more aware of how we consume media as well as the possibilities of using these forms in a project.
