After more than 15 years of working in a pediatric emergency department, the physician owners of KidMed embarked on a mission to find a better way to care for sick and injured children. At the time, pediatric urgent care was a fairly new concept around the country. We mapped out a plan for an innovative after-hours pediatric urgent care practice in Richmond, VA, and, in 2009, KidMed was born. Through the incredible work of a very talented and dedicated staff of physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, patient care techs, X-ray technologists, lab techs, front office and administrative staff, KidMed has grown to four locations. There are three locations in the Richmond, VA area (West End, Southside, and Mechanicsville) and a fourth location in Stafford, VA. We aim to continue to offer our patients and their parents excellent care delivered by our pediatric trained staff with compassion, convenience and affordable cost.
