Koya Aboriginal Corporation trading as Koordoormitj Institute Koordoormitj Institute weaves together the purpose, vision, aims, objectives and inter-related, complementary activities of Koya Aboriginal Corporation, Aboriginal Nature Trekz and Pindi Pindi Centre for Research Excellence in Aboriginal Wellbeing, reinforcing and strengthening the organisation’s focus on its primary purpose of engaging, developing, nurturing and supporting Aboriginal and vulnerable children and young people, in order that they may grow, thrive and succeed in their chosen pathways, fulfil their potential and live happy, healthy, empowered and independent lives. The word Koordoormitj encompasses and reflects a positive aura, essence, spirit and soul and thus the Koordoormitj Institute is ‘a solid friend, opening doors’. Koya Aboriginal Corporation has been Operating since 2006, Koya Aboriginal Corporation (Koya) is 100% Aboriginal owned and led not for profit organisation. Koya is a leader in connecting communities culturally through community development programs and translational research outcomes. It is a joint creation by Elder Allan Kickett and Professor Cheryl Kickett Tucker.
