Kunskapsskolan Educational Program (KED) was conceptualized in 1999 in Sweden in a bid to meet this challenge. KED program focuses on personalized education, individualized goals and creates students who take responsibility and ownership for their learning. This lays the foundation for a lifetime of learning as students develop the confidence that comes from setting high academic goals and consistently planning how to meet them, and ultimately achieving more than they thought was possible. The Kunskapsskolan schools are among the leading schools of Sweden and the success of its KED Program can be judged not only by students’ performance being higher than the Swedish national average, but also by the growth of KED schools across international boundaries. Currently, over 40 KED schools and KED inspired schools are being operational across Sweden, UK, the Netherlands, India, USA and with definite plans to expand to the Middle East. The schools follow the curriculum of each country and grade student performance according to national standards. The international alliance of schools operating and being inspired by the KED Program spans the following countries: Sweden UK The Netherlands India USA The Middle East Kunskapsskolan’s organization places a strong emphasis on pedagogical and conceptual development that involves both the teachers in our schools and resources in our centralized centers of excellence. Our research and development units for curriculum development, Learning Portal development,engagement/organizational structure, and IT are the core functions for the continuous advancement of the educational programme and are the common centers of excellence for all schools.
