Our novel technology extracts protein from green leaves. We’re separating a protein called Rubisco which is the most abundant protein on the planet, and responsible for photosynthesis. It’s an incredible food ingredient, so we’re using leaf protein to develop a range of foods that lift people out of the cycle of dissatisfaction with the existing plant- and animal-based proteins. In 2022, we raised $15m USD in Series A funding, led by Silicon Valley-based Khosla Ventures, with participation from Ngāi Tahu Holdings via their New Economy Mandate, ACC’s Climate Change Impact Fund, and NBA Basketballer and impact investor Steven Adams. Our growing team of 24 is made up of food technologists, process engineers, biotechnologists, farm systems specialists, and sales and marketing experts.
