THE CLUB The Leopard Club has been created in 2008 by its President Rolando Benedick to secure significant financial contributions to the Festival and to offer its members and their guests an unforgettable experience at one of the Swiss Top Events. ITS ROLE FOR THE LOCARNO FILM FESTIVAL From the outset, the Club has successfully established itself as a fundamental contributor to the future of the Festival, which celebrated its 75th anniversary last year and has gained a unique position in the landscape of major international film festivals. Every August, around 170,000 cinema-goers, more than 1,000 journalists and 3,000 professionals gather in Locarno. At dusk, in front of 8,000 spectators, the famous open-air screenings in the extraordinary setting of the Piazza Grande are a festive and magical occasion for all audiences. LEOPARD CLUB MEMBERS Leopard Club members enjoy a series of exclusive privileges that make every night at the Festival special. Each year Leopard Club members are invited to the exclusive Gala Reception, traditionally held on the first Friday of the Festival, and to a second exclusive Members Only Evening. Many personalities, including Federal and State Councillors, financial and cultural leaders and show business celebrities attend what has become one of the most enjoyable and appreciated events in the Festival calendar. Members also have privileged access to cultural events throughout Switzerland.
