Lewtrenchard Manor is a luxurious country house hotel & restaurant virtually untouched by time. Mentioned in the Domesday Book, this idyllic family-owned property is steeped in history: the Jacobean manor that now stands in these impressive grounds dates back to the early 1600s. The Murray Family owned the business from 1988 until 2003 when they sold it to Von Essen Hotels. They have now bought it back, as of March 2012, after Von Essen Hotels went into administration. The hotel is very much run as a family business with the owners on site most days.
