The Schwarz Group is one of the most important international groups operating in the large distribution sector. The group was founded in Germany in the 70s and was initially developed in the German market, however, in the beginning of the 90s, the group started to expand on a European level. Lidl Malta was founded in 2008 with its first outlets in Santa Venera, Luqa and San Gwann. Today, Lidl Malta operates 8 retail units, including Safi, Zejtun, Qormi, Mosta and in the island of Gozo. In a few years Lidl Malta has become one of the most important players in the national retail market. Its main key to success being two factors; the team behind the organization and the endeavour to offer quality products at the best prices available.
