For international companies, effective communication across cultural boundaries is one of the greatest challenges. There are no global standardsin communication - misunderstandings often arise because both partners view communication through the eyes of their own cultural values and norms. Most of the time, the partners are not even aware of how much they are influenced by their learned culture and what expectations they implicitly have of their counterparts. In my work as a manager in China I have experienced how enriching working with people from other cultures can be, but I have also learned about the special challenges of working in a foreign culture and leading employees there. Through my trainings I want to broaden the cultural horizon of the participants, sharpen their awareness of cultural differences in communication and enable them to cooperate more effectively with other cultures. This includes getting to know the peculiarities of one's own culture as well as understanding foreign cultures.
