LPP is an investment management and pension services provider for Local Government Pension Schemes and other public sector pension funds. We aim to help clients reduce pension deficits, improve investment returns and provide an excellent service to their members via our two core business divisions: Local Pensions Partnership Investments (LPPI) and Local Pensions Partnership Administration (LPPA). We launched in 2016 as a collaboration between the Lancashire County Council (LCC) and London Pensions Fund Authority (LPFA), ahead of the Government plan to create pools from the 89 Local Government Pension Schemes (LGPS), LCC and LPFA took the decision to pool their assets to reduce cost and improve performance. LPP is now one of eight local government pools in the UK. We provide pensions administration services for more than 609,000 LGPS, Police and Firefighters’ pension scheme members across over 1,900 employers. We also manage around £22.1 billion of pensions assets for our investors across eight investment pooling vehicles (as at 31 March 2021), including two Authorised Contractual Schemes. Each of our funds has an emphasis on long-term viability and returns. LPPI is also the appointed Alternative Investment Fund Manager for GLIL Infrastructure LLP, an investment platform that was originally a partnership between LPFA and Greater Manchester Pension Fund, which has since widened its membership and now has £2.6 billion of committed capital. GLIL invests into core infrastructure opportunities predominantly in the UK. With strong roots in both the public and private sectors, we continue to foster an entrepreneurial culture that aims to promote innovation, seeking best practice from around the globe that can help us improve services and lower costs. LPP’s partnership philosophy ensures all monies generated are used for the mutual benefit of clients and shareholders. This guiding philosophy ensures we are completely aligned to the needs of our partners.
