Marie Stopes Papua New Guinea

Marie Stopes PNG (MSPNG), a member of the Marie Stopes International (MSI) partnership, is a results driven, non-profit organisation with proven success in expanding access to quality, voluntary FP across the country. Through quality service delivery; training and mentoring of health workers; and health promotion MSPNGs fulfils the MSI mission to enable families to have children by choice, not chance. MSPNGs mobile outreach is a proven model for bringing contraceptive choice to remote communities. Consisting of specialised clinical and support staff, outreach teams travel out by off-road vehicle, boat and plane every day to deliver services in the most remote parts of the country. MSPNG currently provides life-changing FP to over 27,000 clients per year, across seven provinces: NCD, Morobe, Madang, Eastern Highlands, Western Highlands, Central and Milne Bay. MSPNGs strong community relations and successful engagement with women and men are crucial to addressing sociocultural barriers and achieving sustainable social change. Peer educators and community health workers enable outreach teams to access the most vulnerable groups in communities. Recently, MSPNG, in conjunction with National Department of Health and Reproductive Health Training Unit, has set up the National FP Training Program which aims to train government health workers to deliver quality FP. Marie Stopes PNG is committed to providing quality sexual and reproductive and family planning services to women, men and young people across the country.
