The Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Foundation, otherwise known as LUKMEF, is a registered people-focused, non-denominational non-governmental organisation working to promote peace, social justice and sustainable development in Cameroon since 1999. Headquartered in the port town of Limbe, LUKMEF was founded in 1999 by the current President & CEO, Mr. Tanyi Christian. The organisation has completed over 23 projects in the areas of peace building, democracy, human rights, education, poverty alleviation and HIV/AIDS impacting over 10,000 individuals across the South West and North West Regions of Cameroon. Funding partners have included UN Women and the European Union, among others. The organisation is directed by an international Board of highly skilled and motivated Directors located in England, United States, Holland, Australia, Germany, France, the USA, and Cameroon.
