In addition to chemigation and fertigation, Mazzei has developed technology to help with crop yield and soil health—AirJection irrigation. It optimally blends air and water in drip line systems to deliver the right mixture to the root zone… preventing the soil from becoming anaerobic which would inhibit growth and yield. For wine fermentation, Mazzei has a wine pump-over injector for macro aeration. Wine is pumped through the injector which draws in and uniformly distributes oxygen into the juice improving the fermentation process. The oxygen dose can be honed with a metering value and flowmeter so that it can be monitored and controlled.
