MEL is the largest paper recycling and cardboard production company in Greece and one of the largest in Southeastern Europe. Designs, manufactures and markets recycled packaging paper, using exclusively recyclable paper as a raw material. In 1967 it started operating, as one of the most modern factories in the world at that time, and in 1984 it was part of the public sector. In 1998, following a public tender, it re-entered the private sector and in 2012 joined the multinational PAK GROUP, now the third largest cardboard manufacturer in Europe.
