Modern Domestic is a sewing studio offering two fully equipped classrooms, a comfortable seating area and a community of creative makers. With many classes to get you started sewing or refine your skills we offer classes in sewing for those who have never touched a machine before to those who have fallen in love with the craft. Our classes cover (but are not limited to): beginning sewing, sewing for kids and teens, felting, silk screen, intermediate and advanced sewing. The schedule changes all the time, so be sure to take a look at the latest offerings. We are an authorized sales location for Bernina and Janome sewing machines, and a service drop-off point for all major machine brands. We have a knowledgeable staff of sewists who can help find the right machine for you. We offer sewing machine service and sell machine accessories and sewing tools and equipment, thread, and select notions. Located just blocks from Bolt, Close Knit, and Collage, we are in the heart of North East Portlands thriving DIY community. Join us in our well equipped studio and work on your own project at your own pace on our sewing machines for only 8$/hour. We also offer a 10 hour punch card for $50 (includes additional 2 friend punches). Classrooms can be reserved for craft and sewing groups.
