nibox is redefining the last-mile distribution of financial services in Africa. Due to low bank branch and smartphone penetration, a mobile-only interface is insufficient to address the informal market needs. nibox is an offline infrastructure of self-service kiosks that provide access to digital financial services without a smartphone and a bank account. Customers can pay bills, deposit, withdraw, and onboard financial products via a nibox kiosk. We believe in a future where Africa is cashless, but it takes time to transition from 90% cash use to a single digit. Having a reliable, easy, and affordable on/off-ramp between cash <-> digital money is crucial. Since deploying the first kiosk in Nigeria in 2019, we have provided access and saved time to over 180,000 Nigerians — and we’re just getting started. Our mission is to be a bridge between cash and the digital economy for millions of people and unlock reliable distribution for our partners.
