NIBS Worldwide Case Competition

For more than two decades, the NIBS Worldwide Case Competition has provided unparalleled learning experiences to undergraduate business students from across the globe. Participants tackle real-world challenges in a best-on-best team tournament, benefiting from unique settings that immerse them in the culture of the host country. Students compete in teams of four on behalf of their universities, beginning with a qualifying phase completed at their home institution. The top 16 schools then advance to the Championship Round, where they compete in a series of head-to-head match-ups over the course of a week. The deliverable in each round is a 20-minute presentation, followed by 10 minutes of Q&A. The NIBS Case Competition is organized by a different member institution every year, under the guidance and authority of the Network of International Business Schools, an association of 70+ internationally-oriented business schools from leading universities around the world. Since its inception in 1996, more than 900 students from nearly 50 universities in 20 countries around the world have participated in the Championship Round. The competition is distinguished by its focus on the challenges and opportunities of doing business in a global business environment. From the diverse origins of the firms and settings of the cases to the cultural, legal, political, and organizational issues that arise from them, NIBS tests every aspect of participants’ international business IQ. We also ensure that presentations are judged by senior managers, entrepreneurs, and policymakers who understand the realities of doing business in a global setting.
