Northamptonshire Association for the Blind has been working with blind and partially sighted people since we were founded in 1896. Originally formed to help unemployed blind people in Northampton town, nab has expanded its services over the years and helped thousands of visually impaired people to regain their dignity and confidence. Today we are the largest provider of services to visually impaired people in Northamptonshire, yet we remain a wholly independent charity, run by local people for local people. Our goal is to offer the services and support people with sight loss to lead full and rewarding lives. Ways we can Help: Our Community Team deliver friendly advice, support and information in your home, through our Helpline or on our website. Specialist aids, equipment and information on display at our Northampton Sight Centre, located opposite Waitrose in Kingsthorpe. Also on board our Mobile Sight Centre that visits towns across the county, currently it visits Northampton Town Centre twice a month. Social and Support Groups across the county. We run Sight Support Meetings, Computer Clubs, Luncheon Clubs and Pub Lunches in Northampton. Children and Families Service - advice, support and events. Local Talking Newspaper Service free audio recordings of local news sent to your door. Distributors of British Wireless for the Blind Residential and respite care at Darsdale Home in Raunds. Awareness Training, Transcription Services and Access Audits for individuals or organisations.
