The NSW Department of Planning and Environment helps create great places and experiences for all. We plan for a changing and thriving NSW, inspire strong and resilient communities and regions, and ensure the responsible and sustainable use of our states resources. Our Department supports NSW with long-term, strategic planning for the States regions, driving well-located housing and employment land, assessing State significant development proposals, and ensuring the planning system is efficient and effective. Other entities that sit within the Department of Planning & Environment cluster include the Office of Local Government and the Environment Protection Authority.
