Odisha Power Generation Corporation Limited (OPGC Ltd.) was incorporated as a wholly owned Company of Government of Odisha on November 14, 1984 under the companies Act, 1956. The company is now operating its own thermal power station with a capacity of 1740 MW (2 X 210 MW) and (2 X 660 MW) at IB Thermal Power Station, Banharpali of Jharsuguda District in the state of Odisha. The entire generation from this existing two units of IB Thermal Power Station is committed to Grid Corporation of Odisha (GRIDCO) on the basis of a long term Power Purchase agreement.
