As the founder of Sandy Positive Education, it is our mission to promote the importance and effectiveness of Positive Parenting, to parents with children of this generation. Having raised two different sets of children who grew up over two different generations (Millennial and the i-Gen), I know firsthand how much of my parenting skills that I had acquired, no longer applies to my current preteen. We all know that education is not just for our children, it is just as much for us adults, because parenting is a work in progress. We learn something new every day from our children, and that is an education worth learning. We are here to provide support to parents to help them navigate their parenthood journey, especially during their childrens teenage years when they are most vulnerable and most in need of our presence and connection to their lives. Being a Positive Parent does not only enhance our relationships with our children, it also enhances our personal and work relationships. Sandy Positive Education offers positive parenting workshops that primarily focus on the skills of resilience, and building the loving relationship with our children. We also see the value in providing parents the one-on-one coaching on parenting as each family, every child and each circumstance is unique. As a Strengths-based Positive Parenting Coach, I infuse the elements of positive psychology and character strengths into my coaching in order to assist my clients to discover their character strengths and how best to apply them in their parenting as well as in their personal and work lives. Positive Psychology is the scientific study of the strengths that enable individuals and communities to thrive. This field of psychology is founded based on the belief that people want to lead meaningful and fulfilling lives, to cultivate what is best within themselves, and to enrich their experiences of love, work, and relationships with others.
