Peterborough CVS (Peterborough Council for Voluntary Service)

Peterborough Council for Voluntary Service (PCVS) is a Registered Charity and Company Limited by Guarantee set up by local organisations to support voluntary groups in Peterborough. (Charity Number 299823; Company Number 2119687). We were established in 1980 as an umbrella and network organisation to the voluntary and community sector in Peterborough and 38 years later, we are still supporting, developing and championing over 1500 members and organisations in the city. PCVS supports individuals and community groups to live better lives and manages a diverse range of projects and local initiatives from employability, youth provision, community development and wellbeing, to care, volunteering and payroll management. In addition to our projects and initiatives we also provide: - Information, guidance and training to the sector - Assessment and identification of local needs and development initiatives to meet them - Promotion of partnership between statutory and voluntary sectors in the delivery of services - Support to develop innovation, accountability and good practice in local services - Encouragement and empowerment for local groups to put forward their views on local and national issues - We work with people, groups and communities to tackle inequality in a flexible and open way
