Acoustic voice and speech analysis for all clinicians ... PHONANIUM aims at promoting state-of-the-art voice/speech clinics through sophisticated and high-quality yet accessible and affordable acoustic voice/speech analyses. It allows to purchase scripts for these analyses in the program Praat (Paul Boersma & David Weenink, Institute for Phonetic Sciences, University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands), to watch instructional video’s on how to implement/use them and to interpret their output, and to contact us with specific questions for e.g. education, research and development. PHONANIUM already has scripts to measure the following clinical elements of phonatory sound: fundamental frequency, intensity level, voice range, and voice quality (with spectrography, cepstrography and/or Acoustic Voice Quality Index). They can be applied regardless of the voice and speech pathology or science area. This website thus offers methods for objective assessment of acoustic voice/speech signals, information on how to make reliable sound recording, and videos for illustrating how to implement and interpret the scripts.
