A non-denominational memorial park serving Long Island, Brooklyn, Queens & Bronx HONORING A LEGACY The ideals set forth in 1902 by William H. Locke, Jr.'s "The Promise of Pinelawn"​ paved a culture that still lives within the organization today. To honor his father's legacy, Alfred D. Locke became a passionate steward of the land and delivered his father's promise by introducing magnificent architecture, historically significant sculptures, themed gardens and striking landscaping design. The vision and passion of this father and son has transformed the way generations of families remember their loved ones. PINELAWN TODAY Pinelawn has many flowing fountains, monuments and granite displays among 840 acres of lush greenery. Pinelawn is a Level I Accredited Arboretum, furthering its goal of providing our community with aesthetically pleasing, open, green space for people to visit and enjoy. In place of competing headstones, handsome bronze memorials are set level with lush, green wide-sweeping lawns. Nestled within 300 acres of majestic gardens and constructed from the highest quality granite and marble, Pinelawn’s GARDEN MAUSOLEUMS provide ageless beauty and permanent protection. Families can choose from open outdoor courts, semi-enclosed garden atriums or our peaceful indoor chapels. For those who have decided on CREMATION, families can choose a location in one of our tranquil memorial gardens, surrounded by flowering trees and fountains, or within our Garden Mausoleums where a loved one's cremains are placed in elegant marble niches within our outdoor courts, garden atriums or indoor chapels.
